PROJECTSIntroduction [Biosketch]
- Dr. Samuel Lalthazuala Rokhum is currently serving as an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemistry at the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Silchar, Assam, India. He earned his Ph.D. in Chemistry from the North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU), Shillong, under the mentorship of Prof. Ghanashyam Bez. He subsequently pursued postdoctoral research at the University of Cambridge, UK (2019–2021), working under Prof. Andrew E.H. Wheatley on the synthesis and applications of metal–organic frameworks (MOFs). Dr. Rokhum’s research spans organic chemistry, materials science, renewable energy, and heterogeneous catalysis. He has successfully completed two sponsored research projects funded by SERB and is currently leading three ongoing projects funded by SERB, DST, and CSIR. He has mentored six Ph.D. scholars to completion and is presently supervising five full-time Ph.D. students. Dr. Rokhum has an impressive academic output, with over 170 research publications in reputed international journals, 21 book chapters, three edited books, and one authored book. He also holds five patents. Dr. Rokhum serves as an Academic Editor for the International Journal of Energy Research and the Journal of Nanotechnology (both published by Wiley). In recognition of his contributions, he has been listed among the “World’s Top 2% Scientists 2024” by Elsevier and Stanford University, USA.
